This article assumes the reader has knowledge of editing files and folders. When you upgrade to new versions of certain Firefox Firefox extension may not work more. This article is explaining why this happens and how to fix it. Some people have a favorite extension and is very frustrating when it stopped working after upgrading to a new version. However, you can upgrade the average itself. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to dive in:

Step 1. Under the extension you want to upgrade your hard disk from the site or homepage. This is the file *. XPI.
Step 2. Rename the extension *. XPI in *. zip indeed the XPI file is just a zip file.
Step 3. Open and extract zip file with unzip utility. If you do not have a zip utility, 7zip, 7-zip.org major.
Step 4. Open “install.rdf” in your favorite text editor.
Step 5. Change the “maxVersion”, such as the following example.
Change maxVersion = 3.0 + with maxVersion = 3.5 .*
Step 6. Change the “install.rdf” with a file to edit and create a new zip file with 7zip.
Step 7. Rename the extension *. zip to *. XPI
Step 8. Install the update extent. You should be just double-click the XPI file to install the Firefox plugin is for you.

Congratulations! Please update your extension, in most cases, are running the latest version. Is that easy.

The best way to learn things about how the Internet will jump in and do things alone. Updating your non-viable or double extension for Firefox is a good example.
